Dishwasher seems nice, but has a design flaw common to Whirlpool: the drain tube goes right across the area where the incoming water line goes. So the drain tube puts pressure either on top of, or under, the fresh water line. On one installation of mine, the jiggling of the drain line loosened the water connection over time and caused damage to the unit below. Also, most dishwasher water connections are via a 3/8 braided line. This unit still has a garden hose size water connection, and adapter is not included.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
I bought this two years ago. Replaced rusting racks within the one-year warranty.
Then it stopped drying before it was even two years old. Replaced burnt out heating element, but still not drying. Appears to be bad relay on circuit board. Too expensive to repair.

The door is a little hard to open and you also have to make sure the top rack is pushed in all the way before trying to close the door because it catches on the soap door and could possibly cause it to snap off. It's not a good design unfortunately so if you're used to closing the door with your hip then you will need to train yourself to check the top rack first.

I bought this dishwasher in 2016 when I started having issues with the one I had and installed it a few months later in 2017. It worked very well, but not for long. About a month ago (August 2019) we noticed water running out from underneath and I found a hairline fracture in the inlet valve that was leaking. I bought a new inlet valve and replaced it. 2 weeks later we had a new issue, the dishes weren't getting clean. I took the sump apart, cleaned everything, put it back together and it worked for one washing. I started checking connections and voltages and found that I was getting 80 vac out and not 120. The cost of the control board was more than I wanted to spend, especially not knowing if the sump motor would also have to be replaced. I ended up buying a new dishwasher to replace one that was not even 3 years old...VERY DISAPPOINTING!

I purchased this dishwasher because it is made right down the street from where I live. I hoped it would last as long as other Whirlpool products had in the past, but after 4 years, it's junk like most of the other newer appliances... Computer problems and motor issues cost more to fix than replace. Energy Star means nothing if you are adding big stuff to landfills all the time. I'd rather go back to the simple dishwashers with one cycle that lasted twenty years!

I bought this a month ago and I hate it. The dishes are wet even after heat cycle and rinse agent as recommended. The silverware tray is terrible. It gets caught on everything and the top slots are a joke. The silverware doesn't come clean. Some of the dishes don't always come clean. The plastic interior is always wet. Have always bought Whirlpool, but no more. This dishwasher is the worst I have had in my 50 years.
