Been using for 8 months. Dishes must be well washed before loading. Even with rinse aid there's often moisture left on dishes. It's ok but I wouldn't buy this dishwasher again.

For a dishwasher that's 4 years old - I should have repaired the old one instead of purchasing this new Gold Series. So far spent over $200 just in parts for this thing. Parts are cheap and don't last. Last Whirlpools dishwasher we'll buy.

I gave it a 2 because the machine looks great and is in fact quiet. However, when a dishwasher doesn't wash dishes even when it was new – well, I think that's a problem. Just horrid! And no customer service – I've tried several times!

We've had this dishwasher for 3 months and it's falling apart. All of the many many plastic pieces holding things together are breaking one by one and the heating element in the bottom is corroding. The wine glass rack is a joke. The adjustable plastic pieces on the top rack collapse if something even barely touches them so you can't put anything where they are unless you want a bunch of broken glass.

Bought this in August 2016- we have tried every setting and the dishes are never very clean nor are they dry. Our 13 year old dishwasher that didn't drain was much more effective. So disappointed!!! Will never buy whirlpool again- EVER!!! :(

I bought this a month ago and it does the job. My only complaint is that it doesn't dry the dishes as well as my last machine. I love the sensor wash. It does a great job cleaning (I found that liquid dishwasher soap works best with my water) and it is so quiet.

This was a less than okay purchase. On the good side, it is fairly quiet. I have to prewash everything as it is not a good cleaner. I HATE the utensil placement. It always gets stuck on the bottom rack. The top rack's propeller melted within a few months. It has the worst drain system and it leaks consistently. It does not get the dishes clean and it leaves tons of sediment. For us the top placement of the controls gets stuck under our countertop so we have to pull the dishwasher out to get the controls to work. Worst dishwasher I've ever owned.

Just plain terrible. Purchased in June and now it's been 3 attempts so far to fix a brand new dishwasher that does not clean. So far I have been asked... "have you been heating the water before you start the cycle?", my favorite..."Is this a whirlpool dishwasher"...So I find out today that it will take another visit from a company that hasn't been able to fix it, plus a call to the "tech" line to make sure they haven't missed anything. Here's what I've missed, a dishwasher that cleans.

Packaged up four pieces with this being the dishwasher selected, so far so good. The only complaint was the end caps on the top rack to prevent the rack fron sliding all the way out were not installed. I figured out how to snap them in so problem solved.The wash cycle seems long on the sensor cycle but it is more of an engery saving feature, the hour setting solves that longer wash problem. I use heated wash and dry option, dishes come out fine with classes shinning.So far so good, plus it looks sleek in the kitchen!

Have had less then 2 years and is garbage. Never cleaned worth a darn to begin with and the heating element broke couple months ago so now wont even dry. Have to wash dishes thoroughly before you wash in machine, and they still come out dirty. I've seen food splatter on the inside door upon opening the after a wash cycle. Jets must be very weak. Wanted to get a energy star efficient washer to match my other appliances, so we bought this one even though our other machine that was over 10 years old still worked. Hugh mistake!!! Oh, and the wash cycle seems to take forever.

This product came with my new build home. It is supposedly the upgraded version. While it does an acceptable job cleaning dishes, it does not dry anything despite trying numerous settings. A family member has the same dishwasher and experiences the same thing.

This was a highly regarded dishwasher and for the price I thought it was a great buy. Now, three years old, it doesn't clean as well as it used too nor does it dry the dishes as well either. We clean it regularly and use a finishing rinse per the directions but we still get wet dishes with crusted on residue after each cycle. It's very quiet and sleek looking, adequately fits the dishes although the silverware in the door is the worst possible design. Overall it is getting us by until we remodel but I wouldn't buy it again.

Just had an appliance repair man leave with the dishwasher. It would fill and then drain but nothing else. After much testing he said that the motor for sure was gone and the control panel was also not working. Will never purchase another lemon made by Whirlpool.

This dishwasher is the most ridiculous thing since Vanilla Ice. This is not a dishwasher it is simply a rinser or mister. It rarely cleans any of my dishes and when it does it either leaves resin of soap or puddles of water and most of the time there is still food on the silverware. Don't even get me started on the loading rack it is horrible. Come on I can design a better dishwasher than this, does it take rocket science to develop a dishwasher that actually cleans and dries your dishes?!? The dishwasher.. Wait let me rephrase that the machine (because it don't do no dishwashing) has 5 time cycles but they all do the same thing even at an 8 hour cycle of constant washing my dishes were still dirty .. It's either my dishes are really dirty or your so called dishwasher is really horrible and I hate to break it to you Whirlpool but I think it might be that your dishwasher awful. It is not energy efficient, I'd rather wash all the dishes by hand than wait 2 hours and have to wash them when they come out of the dishwasher. Biggest waste of money ever! DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT IF YOU ACTUALLY WANT TO HAVE CLEAN DISHES .. 0/10

Positive notes: Super quietstainless steel tub a plusbuttons hidden on topNegative notes: The filtration system must be cleaned regularly or you will end up with a god awful smell, never had a DW smell that badly.Dishes must be pre rinsed and scrubbed well prior to placing them in the dishwasher.The wash cycles take forever from the minimum 1.5 hours to the max 7 hours.Does not dry completely so you have to leave the door ajar overnight to keep from mildew growth.Hate the resume button, it doesn't seem to work all of the time. It should know that you interrupted a cycle and automatically resume.

I bought this dishwasher and was very happy with it's cleaning, but then the wheels came off the cart - literally. The bottom rack's wheels began popping off every time I pulled it out to unload the dishes. After months of this and calls to whirlpool which were unhelpful, I just left them off. Then the top rack began having the same problem, but this was worse as the entire rack would collapse. I purchased new tracks and this worked for a while, but again the problem has returned. If not for the parts problem I would have been happy, but as it stands, I'm in the market for a new dishwasher and I will not be purchasing a Whirlpool again.

I bought this 3 years ago, and it's been just okay since. It cleans the dishes (as long as you hand wash the stuck-on food off first), but it doesn't dry them well. We use a drying aid, but the dishes still come out wet. I wish there was a "DRY ONLY" cycle so that I could shake off the excess water and send them back in to re-dry, but there isn't. Our old dishwasher had that, at least. Also, now our detergent dispenser cup doesn't pop open during the wash, so we have to replace it. I like that it's stainless steel and that the buttons are hidden from plain sight. But next time, I'll do a little bit more research on dishwasher brands and check out the reviews before I purchase. Apparently, this detergent dispenser cup issue is common.

I bought this in June of 2014. Having had almost 2 years of experience with it, I can positively say that I've had zero mechanical problems. The only complaint I do have is limited to how easily the "Stainless Steel" stains: Fingerprints and water stains are the main culprits that result in stains. Be prepared to clean the surface often depending on how heavily you use your dishwasher.

I have an open concept floor plan where my kitchen is open to my living area. This dishwasher is so quiet, even when we're watching TV, we don't notice that it is on. Other features that are great are the tall tub, the way the silverware basket can go either upright on the bottom rack or mount on the inside of the door, plus the basket has a neat feature where you can unlatch the front to make it easier to unload. The inside of the unit is a light gray, which compliments the stainless steel outside very well. I have had this dishwasher about 1.5 years and would buy it again! Great decision...I recommend it highly.

Love my new Whirlpool dishwasher! It's quiet, and has good clearance for both racks. Lots of extra features for arranging specialty items, too. Didn't think I'd like the utensil caddy in the door, but it frees up more recently om on the lower rack.

My Whirlpool dishwasher is about 6 months old and works like a charm. Dishes are clean and it runs relatively quietly compared to previous dishwashers I've owned. The stainless steel design matches my other appliances beautifully and is easy to keep finger-print free. Highly recommend Whirlpool!

The dishwasher does a great job cleaning and it is very quiet. It looks great with our remodeled kitchen and performs exceptionally well on all modes. I was surprised how quiet it was for the money we paid. I did however run into unexpected problems during the install but afterwards everything worked just fine. I noticed several reviews with complaints about wash performance compared to previous models. My guess is that the dishwasher prior used cold water and when they hooked it up they hooked it to the same cold water tap which would be a problem for this model since it uses hot water. I made the same mistake myself and when I changed over to hot water the dishwasher performed spectacularly. My wife and I love it. Good job whirlpool!

My previous dishwasher was Whirlpool I had it for almost 14 yrs. NEVER had service on it. So I decided to look at Whirlpool again when I remodeled the kitchen with stainless steel appliance's. I have had this dishwasher for several months now and really like it. Looks great is very quiet. Only thing I miss in it is the rinse only feature my old one had.

I thought I had bought something good after reading all the good reviews. Wouldn't you know it, 1 month after my warranty (purchased July 2014) it has decided to stop cleaning my dishes. I've done all the recommended tips from Whirlpool. Now they want to charge me for a serviceperson so come out. I am beyond annoyed. Horrible product!!

Whirlpool was very quick to respond to my complaints about the dishwasher in a review. The technician was pleasant and seemed knowledgeable. However, even after I followed her recommendations about detergent, the dishwasher fails to get dishes and silverware clean on any cycle. The problem is design and engineering, not manufacturing. I am beyond annoyed. I have to inspect each item that has been "washed" and find that at least--very minimum--- 10%-15% need to be soaked, scraped, or otherwise rewashed by hand. A royal pain. And certainly no gain in energy efficiency over my previous model. Not at all. I cannot understand all these 5 * reviews. Maybe people wash tiny loads of a half dozen dishes and a few spoons. There's no energy efficiency in that. The Whirlpool service people were very responsive, but that doesn't help my dirty forks. Whatever were they thinking?

I bought this Sep 1, 2014. Since that time I have had to call a repairman 3 times. I followed his advice each time and the dishwasher continues to build up horrible black putrid smelling gunk in the filters and all around the inside. As of this writing (8/19/2015) I will have scheduled a 4th visit. Severely disappointed with this product performance. Not as advertised.

The Machine does a great job of getting the dishes clean. It's not too noisy, and the stainless steel looks great. The only complaints that I have are that the door opens up much closer to the floor than our old dishwasher so there's more bending over to get to the bottom rack. Secondly, the holes in the silverware basket are not big enough to accommodate our particular silverware knives and other silverware. We just flip the little lids with the holes on them up and use the baskets open. These are minor issues. Overall a really good machine.
