Problems began 1 year from purchase

i was so excited to be able to but a home in 2018 and purchase new appliances. i purchased this refrigerator from lowe's. within the first year i started having issues with the ice dispenser and fridge/freezer temperature. going into the second year the leaking started, no more ice, and crazy temperature fluctuations. i called and in 2019 and told that i was our of warranty and i had to pay for repairs. i was tight on money so managed as best as i could until i coild afford a new refrigerator. ive had to throw out groceries at least 3 times in 3 years. i finally got upset when i did research and foundout that this is a known issue in samsung regrigerators. i spoke to customer service today and requested a refund! they said they will repair free of cost. crazy. never again.

i've had this fridge for 2+ years and for 2+ years i've had nothing but issues with the ice maker. at least once a week or stops making ice because the entire inside is frozen. sometimes ice gets stuck trying to fall into the bucket, but most times it has to be thawed. i just spent 30 minutes with my wife's hair dryer trying to thaw it out, and got most (but not all) of it. sadly i know next week i'm going to have to do it again.
i know there is a class action for this, and i don't want part of that, i just want a 100% working fridge.

at first this refridgerator was beautiful. we purchased the black stainless steel and loved the dual ice makers. after having it less than a year all of the lights have went out and almost all of the shelving units are broken. we don't have any kids so there is no reason all of the shevles should be completely cracked. we don't place hardly anything on the shelves. especially considering most shelves are so narrow nothing fits in them anyways. this is a cheap refridgerator with an expensive price tag. i would not recommed this to anyone. we saved for months to by this refridgerator. what a absolute waste of hard earned money. samsung should be ashamed that they sell this product.

We have only had our fridge a month and I'm already regretting this purchase. Our black pretty stainless steel scratches so easily, a magnet being slid across scratched the finish and nothing can be done to fix it. Unless we want to buy a new door. Next this fridge barely holds anything, the door with the icemaker in it can barely hold kids juice boxes. The door icemaker quit working. The other side shelves which is meant to hold your milk doesnt have strong enough shelves to hold it and you cant fit a ketchup bottle on the shelves because it's not tall enough. Inside there is no room for anything tall like a milk jug. The shelves are flimsy. The freezer is the biggest waste it barely fits 4 boxes of anything. There is no way we could get as much food in this fridge as we did in our other side by side fridge. Save yourself the money and dont buy this fridge.

We've had this fridge for 2 years now. We were primarily drawn to it due to its Black Stainless Finish and were looking for a french door fridge so this fit the bill. It has not let us down and we have had zero issues with it what so ever. Looks great, performs great.....straight up great fridge.

I have only had my refrigerator for about 3 weeks. So far I love it. The refrigerator part is very roomy and customizeable. The freezer is nice size, but hard to organize. That is not Samsungs fault, just the way the French door models are designed. It is a bit louder than what I expected, but not bad enough to bug me.
I was forewarned by a few people about their ice makers, but have had no issues.
Perfect regrigerator!!

Purchased this fridge from Lowes in November of 2017. It looks great and worked well for about 4 months. The ice makers have gone out several times. Electronic boards have also had to be replaced.

The two doors for the refrigator

when looking at the front of the refrigerator the two doors do not sit straight up and down. You have approximately 1/4inch at the top of the door and approximately 1/8 th inch at the bottom. There is no way to make any minor adjustments to align the doors. A very poor design. the manufactter needs to relook the design.

I've had this fridge just less than two years. It looks great, although dings on black stainless show up much more than on other fridges I've had. It makes a LOT of noise when dropping ice and makes random popping noises through the night. Noisiest fridge I've ever owned. Then, the lower ice-maker quit; for some reason just stopped in the "dump-ice" position and won't reset. The kicker is Samsung support ... or lack thereof. Many people have reported problems in the forums but there is no acknowledgment, no recall, and extremely useless feedback from Samsung report such as "call a technician". This is the most I've ever paid for a fridge and it has proven to be the least reliable.

This refrigerator is awesome. The lighting is wonderful. There is ample storage, convenient and well thought out design.
The exterior finish is beautiful, has stood up to tiny sticky hands in admirable fashion. My young grandchildren can open the door without difficulty to get their own snacks.
I would recommend this refrigerator to anyone. The price was very reasonable and I am very pleased.

After proper setup, plugged it in and nothing happened. No lights, no control panel, no hum or buzz. Looked through the manual again to make sure I didn't miss anything. As a last resort I gave it a good technical tap (a slap on the side) and it kicked on. It's been running great since. On a pricy new fridge this shouldn't be necessary. I feel like there is something electrical loose inside. If something goes wrong, I hope it's inside the warranty.

Just got this hooked up. Did it myself. Very easy to do. So far I love it and so does my wife. Black Stainless looks awesome too! Got a great deal on it and I'm glad I didn't pass it up. All I can say is make sure you measure your doorway(s) because it is bigger than a standard refrigerator.

We have owned this unit for four months and it is black. The features are just what we were looking for. Water/ice crusher are convenient and allow for tall glasses and pitchers; plenty of ice when needed. We use the bottom ice maker in the freezer to make ice in advance when we need it. Double doors enable easy access to all shelves and drawers. LED lighting enables us to see in the whole refrigerator. Bottom freezer has plenty of space and we like the very convenient sliding drawer. The unit is very quiet. However, we have nicknamed it "snap, crackle and pop" because of the periodic sounds. Chat session with Samsung identified this as normal and will lessen over time. We would definitely recommend anyone to check out Samsung refrigerators.

I love the black stainless and design of this frig, but completely regret this purchase. We bought the frig about one year ago, and fortunately, purchased an extended warranty. It produces very little ice if it produces at all! It takes 3+ minutes to fill a glass with water. We have had to call for service 3 times and as of today it is not producing any ice...and it's 105 degrees where we live. My daughter has a kidney transplant and hydration is critical. She is picky about her water and likes cold, filtered water from frig but hates standing at the frig forever ! I should have returned this frig. I had visions of replacing all our kitchen appliances with this black stainless line, but won't given the poor quality of thus product.

The lighting inside makes the fridge really come together. Very sleek and sharp looking in the black stainless steal. The shelving/space seems limited. We are still trying to get used to placement of items. This may not be big enough for a large family.

This Samsung fridge is AWESOME!! I love all the features it has like all the shelves pull out, 2 ice makers, the cooling pantry. We purchased this fridge on 5/31/17 so haven't had very long but so far am happy with it. I liked it because of the dual ice maker because we go through a lot of ice. I'm not sure if it really makes 12 lbs a day though because we still keep running out. I'm thinking it's because it hasn't had enough time to fill up since we keep taking it out too fast. Other then that I love it so far.

Do not buy this refrigerator. It is an extremely loud unit. It has many popping noises that could be considered normal operation, e.g. ice maker, defrost, etc. But occasionally, every few hours, makes an extremely loud pop that can be heard throughout the entire house. Particularly not fun while sleeping. I had repairman out when first purchased but they found nothing. Talked to Samsung and they said to wait 3 months and the noise would subside. It's now been 6 months and Samsung is saying it's normal operation. If that's normal operation it is a faulty design and should be avoided.

Just received our new fridge. We have only had it two days but so far love it. The top ice maker seems quick to make ice although the freezer ice maker seems quite slow. We let it cool down for a whole day and transferred our food from our old fridge. It is so much bigger than the old one. We love the flip up shelf and the slid shelf.

I have had multiple issues with refrigerator over the last year since I bought it. The refrigerator has accidently been set to demo mode on multiple occasions only to be caught when we find the freezer defrosting. Samsung does not include troubleshooting steps in the owner's manual since demo mode "is not a consumer feature"! If it is not a feature then give consumers the ability to lock out that function.
Most recently the cooling coils for the refrigerator froze requiring me to defrost the refrigerator which seems to be a common problem found on the internet. Two weeks later the cooling fan fails... Absolutely crazy!
