Died after 5 years doing laundry for 1 person

I am reviewing the washing machine not the service i received employees were fine it is the shoddy construction of the appliance I take issue with 5-years of 1 person doing laundry should not wear out the machine and it is now in need of more $ repair than the washer was ever worth. It is criminal how LG and all american appliance manufacturers now design products to break out of warranty the previous washing machine washed my high school uniforms for my mother and this one was supposed to last until my grandmother passed away she has stage 4 colon cancer and needs a washing machine as she cant get out of bed and her caretakers need to be able to wash her bedding and clothes often. I got 0 help because employees were just following policy which is written to maximize profits and not care about your customers

Bought the machine in July of 2020. Have water leaking out from under the machine for a month now. The repairman states that it is operator error. Well if it was operator error we would have had the water leak from the very beginningover 4 years ago. Otherwise the machine works as intended. Wont but another LG washer.

Our washer is now 5 years old and has been perfect until very recently when it started leaking out of the front of the soap dispenser and leaving a small puddle under the left front corner. We cleaned the dispenser tray a regular job and inside the port top and bottom. No luck. Checked YouTube and they all suggested it was the tube that runs from the dispenser to the drum. Not easy to clean since the dryer is stacked on top. LG couldnt help unless I unstacked the dryer not easy to find that kind of help here in the boonies. Outside repair tech ordered a new dispenser tray and it should be here next week. Puddle is easily handled by stuffing a rag under that corner. Well see.

Washer did not meet LG standards or reputation. After only a few years we had the control panel replaced because it failed- not all the lights were lighting up when turning the dial. I couldnt select the wash cycle I wanted. I had that fixed but new parts only partially fixed it. Now I cant wash on normal and I cant select warm water. Also every time I run a load it is so loud when it spins. My husband calls it the rocket ship. The repairman said the drum is bad and its a very expensive part and repair. Im done with this machine. Looking for a new washer.

Major concerns of water over filling

I bought this unit a little over 3 years ago. Contractors had to move the unit to work on the flooring. When moving the washer they tipped it forward and this caused residue water to go up an air tube that regulates a pressure switch that controls the water level in the machine. When the washer started filling water into the unit the water level went over over half the door. This caused water to be leaking out the door since it should never go above the bottom of the door. This has brought on major concerns for using front loaders if this ever happens again.

Customer service was no help

Called customer service 6 times regarding a keak from the detergent compartment. Each time we got a runaround of what could be causing the issue. The compartment was spoutless and the tub was ckean. The washer does not keak if we leave the compartment slightly open. We had a LG repairman come out and he too coukd not figure out why this was happening. He called the help line as well and was given zero help. This us our 2nd LG washer and the current machine was installed in 2019. We already incested 450 dollars to repair the problem but the kesk continues to happen. We are very upset that the LG company is no help in solving this mystery and is unable to help. What a waste of time and money. I will think hard before going with another LG in the future.

Broke within 3 yrs LG has terrible repair service

I bought this 3 years ago and I deeply regret it. We bought an additional repair warranty and have been waiting for over 7 weeks for LG to repair our washer. Two appointments have been cancelled without notice and they apparently only have 1 service provider in our region a major city. Ive wasted countless hours on the phone trying to get them to come out sooner but its always another month out after a canceled appointment. They will only replace our broken machine after a service rep has come out and confirmed that it cant be repaired so thats not an option either.

Bearing failure after 3 years

I loved this machine however the bearing has failed after only 3 years. Estimated cost to replace is nearly double what the machine is worth. Incredibly disappointed.

Saver....water and electricity

I have had this washer/dryer set and both have been great. I would have rated 5 stars but I still have to leave the door open as it does smell musty. Dont leave clothes inside otherwise they will stink. I dont know if the manufacturers have improved on that feature. This is my 3rd set of front loader and I love them over the old fashion type. In my opinion and 40+ years experience LG has been a great brand for this style of washer/dryer.

ODOR / MOLD ISSUE BANE OF MY EXISTENCE

Weve had our LG washer Model # WM3700HWA for 1 year and 11 months now. Weve been experiencing a horrible odor coming from the washer. The odor stings my eyes/irritates my sinuses. There is mold on the gasket. We clean it drained the line cleaned the lint trap still smells. Used bleach w/ tub clean still smells. Chatted with a rep at LG told me it was my pipes. MY PIPES WERE RECENTLY INSPECTED HYDRO-JETTED/CLEANED BY THE PLUMBER. LG takes zero accountability. I have owned a lot of washers in my life. I have NEVER experienced such an issue. When did they start making washing machines that smell? Read online many others with the same issue who said You have to keep the door open to let it air out or else Since when did they start making washing machines that need to constantly be babied or else theyll stink? I AM NOT HAPPY WITH THIS MACHINE and I do NOT recommend it nor do I recommend LG - zero accountability.

Washer is a True Delight

This is the first LG Washer and first Front-Loader model I have purchased. Although I have yet to try out the Wi-Fi capabilities of my washer manual operation is already a true delight easy to understand and operate -- and it sings to me when the cycle is completed - much easier on my senses than the BUZZ of my previous washer. but for those of you who might not wish to hear any end of cycle signal there is a way to turn it off... I look forward to many years of use of my new washer and dryer. Thank you LG.

This product would be 3 years old November 2023 and the counter balance lost 2 screws and made a noise like a jet engine. Even after replacing the screws it was beyond repair. LGs warranty is only 2 years so we are out of luck and have to buy a whole new washing machine Not happy.

Mildew formed due to pooling water - stained

We bought this washer brand new and within weeks water being in a pool in the front of the washer where the door closes. We were told to drain the washer and leave the door open so it will dry. This did not stop mildew from forming however. We tried bleaching the rubber and Unfortunately the mildew continues to grow back and it has stained the rubber. Although this began to happen weeks. After purchase. By the time I reach the company we were told it was out of warranty. It is very expensive to fix. I would not recommend this washing machine.

No hot water

We purchased this several years back and immediately noticed the water gets luke warm at best. We called the warranty service who sent out a local LG repairman. He said that is as warm as the water will get since it is an energy saving washing machine. We were very disappointed. Just recently I spoke with 2 coworkers who had LG energy saving washing machines. They both said their washers get very hot water so I am thinking something is wrong with this model or the repairman they sent out.

Beautiful but with flaws

This machine is beautiful quiet and worked for about 2 years. After that a technician came to replace the area where the detergent and fabric softener go because of a defect. My mother in law has the same machine and the same problem.

I love that it senses what my load needs and adjust appropriately. It is so quiet and love the notification feature that is a short chime and not a horrible buzzer.
